Lazy Mornings

I'm not sure what mornings are like at your house but over here they are pretty lazy. And you know what... I wouldn't change it at all! Mornings start for us usually between 8 and 8:30 and consist of the craziest hair, cartoons, breakfast, picking up around the house (sometimes I wonder why I even try?!), and some sort of one on one activity for C and myself. Today that activity was coloring! Now, teaching a 10 almost 11 month old to color is an all hands (and eyes) on deck task. More often than not the crayons end up in her mouth and the whole event ends in tears because I won't let her eat them... I know what you're thinking- i'm so mean.

But seriously, sometimes I wonder if its even worth pulling the paper and crayons out but just when I'm ready to pull the plug and throw in the towel i'll look down and see one tiny stroke of color on the paper. She got it. And suddenly, I've never seen another piece of art more beautiful. And all the tears, and the hundreds of "no's" that have been said are all worth it. And now, that piece of paper with just a few teensy specks of color hangs on our fridge reminding me that even through the struggle a beautiful (to me) masterpiece comes in the end.
